Open/Closed: week of July 27 - August 2, 2017

Satiate your appetite with nine new spots this week. And save room for ice cream.

Here’s the very latest:

OPENINGS

Live uptown? Healthy, local fare of kale and grain bowls, smoothies, shakes, seasonal salads, burgers, and sandwiches can now be yours. b.good (75 Eglinton Ave. E., Unit 100) debuts today.

There’s a lot going on at new Baked on Brock (615c Brock Ave.). First up: ice cream including Stout, Grapefruit and Champagne, and vegan Lavender Chocolate Sorbet. And why just get a cone when you can have a Hong Kong Waffle Taco? Still hungry? Sandwiches (Triple Grilled Cheese) and freshly squeezed citrus juices are made to order.

Pop. Clink. Fizz. The Broadview Hotel (106 Broadview Ave.) officially  “softly opens” today. Lineups for the dreamy rooftop patio and a packed crowd in the café/lounge confirm this is what the eastside’s been waiting for. I’ll have a closer look for you in The Reveal soon.

Find The Fix Ice Cream Bar (207 Queens Quay W.) inside new Joe Bird (see below). On the menu: collabs with Sanremo Bakery and Ed’s Real Scoop, as well as their own housemade soft serve in “signature” flavours.

Chicken lovers unite! Choose from fried, grilled and BBQ selections at Joe Bird (207 Queens Quay W.). There are also salads, sides, waffles, brunch, brekkie and booze. Doors opened yesterday.

If you live uptown, you’ll be saying “arigatou gozaimasu” for the newest Kinton Ramen (90 Eglinton Ave. E., Unit 108).

LAN Sushi (1500 Royal York Rd., Unit #35) launches in Etobicoke today.

Travel the world at NōMads Restobar (699 Danforth Ave.). Menu selections range from bison burger to sushi and steamed bao to an “El Cubano” sandwich.

Wait ’til you see the new Sud Forno (132 Yonge St.) at Yonge and Temperance. Doors opened yesterday. The bombolones won’t know what hit ’em.

CLOSINGS

Cafe Pleiade (557 Mount Pleasant Rd.) is closed for summer vacation, reopening on September 5th.
