Open/Closed for the week of January 16-22

These folks will help you get through the middle of winter.

Here’s the very latest:

Open:

Double D's

1020 Gerrard St. E.

"Toronto’s only Chicago-style deep dish pizza" is now available on Gerrard near Jones.

They sell out fast – obvs - so it’s best to call ahead to order for pickup. Dine is also available, but good luck scoring a seat.

ELXR Juice Lab

2901 Bayview Ave.

EXLR opened Tuesday as a pop-up at Bayview Village.

Cold pressed organic juices and boosters couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Feeling the onset of a cold? Just getting over one? A turmeric or ginger booster will help set you right.

Japanhako Yakitori

712 Bloor St. W.

It’s too cold to BBQ, so get inside and tear into smoky skewers cooked by someone else.

Diners receive 20% off until February 10.

Kinton Ramen

505 Highway 7 East

The newest location for Kinton Ramen softly opened yesterday in Markham.

The grand opening is January 28 – Chinese New Year. The first 88 customers get free ramen. Doors open 11:30am.

Leela By Amaya

3108 Dundas St. W.

Opened just yesterday, Hemant Bhagwani’s newest restaurant lands in the Junction.

Covering all regions of India, Indian street food as well as with lesser known dishes and a banana leaf tasting menu are served tapas-style.

Stay tuned. I’ll have a closer look soon.

Staij & Co

552 Parliament St.

Check out the eye-catching six-tier black cake dripping in gold and four-tied white cake draped in strings of pearls.

The new café in Cabbagetown does more than just custom cakes – also available: cupcakes, edible favours, cookies, sweet tables and macarons.

Thrive Organic Kitchen & Cafe

409 College St.

You are this much closer to your healthy eating goals with the arrival of Thrive’s second location on Friday.
