Chefs For Change: Top chefs cook for an important cause

This winter, top Toronto chefs along with their peers across the country, are gathering together to create five collaborative meals for an important cause.

The annual Chefs For Change event takes place every January, February and March with five themed dinners – Grow, Cook, Share, Advocate, and Come Together.

Each evening includes a reception, four unique courses, appetizers, and curated cocktail. But that’s not the best part:

Once you’ve bought your ticket ($150/night), you receive a $40 charitable tax receipt (via email, after the event for every ticket purchased) and net profits raised from Chefs for Change will support the work of Community Food Centres Canada in building healthy food access and "empowering food programs in low-income communities across Canada." This includes individuals and organizations including eight community food centres and 100 Good Food Organizations.

This isn’t just about giving those in need cans and boxes of food. CFCC offers a "multidimensional approach" that includes everything from wholesome, nourishing drop-in meals and low-priced produce markets, community gardens and kitchens, alongside education and peer advocacy programs all offered under one roof. Working with "farmers, chefs, restaurateurs, home cooks, backyard gardeners, health professionals, market-goers, teachers and the media, as well as sponsors and funders, CFCC is proving that good food can build community, enhance physical and mental health, nurture the planet and be a transformative force in low-income communities."

Chefs For Change present A Mid-Winter’s Feast featuring up to eight chefs creating memorable meals together over five nights in the stunning setting of Propeller Coffee Roastery. You don’t want to miss out. And tickets are going fast (two evenings are already sold out), so get tickets now.
