Carters Landing

Carters Landing (from same group as Williams Landing, Hunters Landing, etc. ) opens its modern Beach location this weekend.

Celebrations begin Canada Day at 4pm with a beach bash and Olympic hopefuls.

Chocolates X Brandon Olsen 
1132 College St.

Worth the wait. Chef Brandon Olsen’s chocolate shop is finally here. Stunning geodome-shaped works of art are sold in collections of 9 ($20.25) and 18 ($40.50), and are packaged in a hand-painted box.

Current flavours include Lime, Ginger & Black Pepper; Raspberry, Rose & Fennel; and Yuzu & Sake.

The Greater Good Bar 
229 Geary Ave.

Craft beer, games and North of Brooklyn pizza is now available under one roof at Dupont and Dufferin.

La Diperie
372 Danforth Ave.

The Montreal soft serve ice cream shop with signature turquoise wall has come to TheSix, serving over 20 different chocolate dips and various toppings (Oreos, caramelized pecans, sprinkles).

J&J Bar-B-Que
193 Baldwin St.

Get yer Central Texas-style BBQ in Kensington market.

Menu items include Brisket Combo with pickled vegetables, coleslaw, onions and white bread; Sausage stuffed with macaroni and cheese; and Pretzel Fluff Bar and White Trash Truffle for dessert.

Warning: It’s selling out like many of the BBQ spots across town, so go early.

Jamie’s Italian Square One
100 City Centre Dr.

The second Canadian location for the easy-peasy chef’s Italian resto just opened at Square One.

They’re open on Canada Day too.

Lbs. Toronto
100 Yonge St.

Fancy. The new restaurant serves only four menu items priced at $22 each – lobster, lobster rolls, salad and burger – and there’s Group of Seven works in the dining room.

psst: the takeout window offers lobster rolls for $16 in the afternoon and donut ice cream sandwiches for $6.

Locals Only 
589 King St. W.

Chef Jennifer P. Chung's (The Chase, Note Bene, Lee) focused menu for the new snack bar features 10 items including dessert - Baby Brahrritos ($10), Boa Down Burger ($7), You Deserve It Glazed Donut ($5).

Love Chix 
1588 Dupont St.

Roast chicken and sides have arrived in The Junction. Birds (leg $5.50, breast $7.50, half $8, whole $16.50) and sides (warm $7, cold $6) make up most of the menu.

Fun snack – Crisp chicken skin ($4) with dill pickle salt.

Second Nature
1597 Dupont St.

The Junction is getting a new organic café complete with gluten-free and vegan baked goods.

The new shop’s grand opening happens Tuesday, with samples on hand all day.

CHANGES

Emma’s Country Kitchen’s last service at their current location is Sunday. They aren’t moving far though – come August, they’ll be at their new home at 810 St. Clair W. Stay tuned.
