The short workweek brings with it a host of new restaurants and bars – 13 in fact - which means there’s still cause to celebrate like it’s the long weekend.

Halo Brewery
247 Wallace Ave.

The brewery has been selling out of bottles and growlers. Pro tip: Head to their taproom during regular hours to get in on their four brews. Day Star, a 6.1% tart saison with apricot and lemon, is ideal for this hot weather.

Her Father’s Cider Bar + Kitchen
119 Harbord St.

Check out the city’s new cider bar at the grand opening event of Ontario Craft Cider Week kicking off tomorrow.

A French bistro serving brunch seven days a week? Mais oui.

My Drunk Uncle's Pub
300 College St.

This watering hole at College and Spadina comes complete with a $10 menu.

Nord Bistro 
406 Dupont St.

Cantine’s team - Joe Bersani and long-time sommelier and manager, Bart Pocock - along with sous chef Kevin Mooney, are adding some of their favourite dishes to the menu while "elevating the Cantine classics."

Noorden Food Bar

The modern food bar serves Dutch-inspired small plates alongside craft beer, wine, and boatloads of gin.

Rashers

The second location of the bacon sandwich lover’s restaurant opened for lunch as of yesterday, and if all goes well, expand to full time hours.

Grand opening of the 24-hour diner (brought to you by the same team of the other 24-hour diner, Old School) happens today until Saturday.

Events:

Tonight go southwest at iYellow Wine Club’s Ontario’s Southwest City Fare 2016 (99 Sudbury Ave.) where you can meet and mingle with top culinary, wine, beer, and other beverage vendors from Ontario’s Southwest.

Tomorrow night head out for Mariposa Cruises’ annual Mardi Gras Dinner Cruise. The three-hour event included a NOLA inspired buffet (the make-your-own jambalaya station is included), fun photo booth, festive costume contest, on board bar, and New Orleans-style music to set the mood, all with Toronto's iconic dramatic skyline as backdrop.

CraveTO is at The Burroughs on Friday night. The pop-up event will be showcasing tastes of Toronto street fare and craft drinks to the soundtrack of local DJs. Food Vendors include Chimney Stax Baking Co., Heirloom, Holy Cannoli, Kaboom Chicken, Moliceiro, Oyster Boy, Porchetta, and Soi Thai.

Friday, May 27 to Saturday June 4th Ontario Craft Cider Week takes over the city.

This Saturday, get your fill of great eats at Scarborough Food Truck Festival 2016.
