Open/Closed for the week April 25 – May 1

I told you May was going to be busy - I’ve got a whopping 11 new places for you to check out this weekend. I hope you’re hungry.

And just one of the major events happening? Anthony Bourdain’s coming to Toronto.

What a week.

Here’s the very latest:

Open:

Adamson Barbecue
176 Wicksteed Ave.

You’ll know Adam Skelly’s meats from his Stock Stack BBQ Food Truck. His “legit” Texas barbecue is now available off the truck, but you’ll have to head to an industrial park in Leaside to get it.

Opened just Monday, Adamson Barbecue offers wood-smoked beef brisket, spare ribs, turkey breast, pulled pork & sausage and all the fixins' in an industrial building with seating. But be warned - it’s only open weekdays for three hours or until sold out, so get there early and often to avoid disappointment.

Babur Express
273 Queen St. W.

The new Babur Express offers casual dine in and take out options from Rajendra Wadhawan, owner of Babur Restaurant. Select from soups and salads, starters and sides, 15 rotis, five thalis, five desserts, and an array of daily specials.

Bahn Mi Boys
2365 Yonge St.

You can now get your banh mi, bao, kalbi beef taco, and kimchi fries fix at Yonge & Eg. The third location opens Monday.

Clocktower Bar
1210 Yonge St.

Cocktails are taken seriously at this new Yonge and Summerhill watering hole.

Margaritas get an upgrade thanks to Blanco tequila, St. Germain, lime juice, simple syrup, vanilla bitters, muddled mint and jalapeño. Want something a little deeper and darker but not heavy or cloying? Try the Paper Planes with Even Williams bourbon, Amaro Averna, Aperol, and lemon juice.

Doomie’s Toronto
1263 Queen St. W.

The vegetarian and vegan restaurant that famously doesn’t offer salads, but has a whole room made for selfies, is having it’s grand opening weekend starting tonight at 5pm and going until Sunday night.

Stay tuned.
