LCBO pop-up Bar Zero isn’t serving alcohol

here’s a new bar coming to downtown Toronto, but it’s unlike any other in almost every way.

Don’t make plans past Thursday - it’s happening for one night only: Thursday, November 24.

Instead of a standalone watering hole, it’s popping up inside Church Aperitivo Bar on Queen West.

And here’s the kicker - LCBO Presents: Bar Zero will not be serving a stitch of alcohol. This "bar" was created "to show you how good times are mixed responsibly."

Mixologist Frankie Solarik of Barchef will be whipping up non-alcoholic bevvies and Chef Rob Gentile (Buca) will be providing food. Feelgoodsmalls is flying in to DJ.

Just in time for the holidays, the LCBO’s Always Taking Care website linked to the event, provides tips on how to be a responsible host (including ways you can plan ahead - prepare a guest bed, call the cab yourself), shares alcohol myths, and receips for zero percent alcohol signature cocktails.

Important messages for sure, but calling it a bar is a misnomer. And is putting up a "bar" without alcohol the best way to get people to drink responsibly?

Strangely, the evening is a 19+ event.
