Open/closed for the week of December 14-20, 2015

It’s been a frenzy of openings these last few weeks.

It has slowed down considerably this week, but that gives you just enough to allow you to catch up on the previous lists (last week and the week before), including almost 20 new spots. Which is mighty impressive for December.

And just wait  - in just a few short weeks, the January openings begin.

In the meantime, here’s the very latest:

Open:

The Birchcliff

1666 Kingston Rd.

A lovely new coffee shop has opened in Scarborough’s Birchcliff Village.

Cluck Clucks

222 The Esplanade

Tired of bread sandwiches (so 2005) for lunch? There’s a fried chicken one here topped with chipotle aioli, dill mayo and coleslaw, served in between a freshly made jalapeño and cheddar waffle, along with other chicken and waffle combinations.

Eat them now before your diet resolutions kick in for the new year.

The Korean Kitchen

699 Bloor St. W.

This new spot near Christie station offers up chilled pork hocks, soybean paste stew, something called "Tornado potato," alongside booze.

Closing:

Moo Milk Bar in the Beaches closes their doors tomorrow.
